View Full Version : .375h&h gas check linotype bullet suggestions
Given a fair amount linotype. Rifle is .375h&h. Request suggestions loading a gas checked 270 grain cast bullet using linotype. Trying for 2300-ish fps range. Hoping to keep recoil down at least a little.
Powders on hand, Red Dot, 2400, IMR3031, IMR4198, H4831, H414 & 5744. Have used fillers with IMR3031 & IMR4198 with good results.
Any suggestions? Thanks for any input.

I have used 60 grains of 3031 with a 270 grn LBT -GC bullet. LBT blue lube. Very accurate at that velocity. No filler was required.

The RCBS 37-250-FN boolit has been very satisfactory in a M 700 REM and post 64 M 70 pushfeed. I was using COWW alloy and weight was close to 270 grains checked and lubed. The H4831 should be a good powder for the velocity you’re looking for and no filler required. I finally went to WC860 with a five grain kicker of 4227 due to the voracious appetite of the slope shouldered beast. Congratulations on the linotype acquisition!

Cut the Lino 50/50 with WW or Pure and you will have a sweet shooting load.
