Howdy, first thanks for all the advice here. My objective was to make a light load for pests around the yard, with shots anticipated no longer than 75 yards. The Winchester 94 carbine has been neglected and I wanted to put it to use. Lyman 311008 mold, 115 gr FN was used. Lead was a load of old cast boolits I obtained and recast. Average weight was 113 grs but actual hardness is unknown, although they are harder than commercial casts I have that are marked 10 bh. Dacron was used as a filler with unique powder and Fed large primer. They dropped .312 and were lubed with Lee alox. The case mouths were opened slightly with a bump from a .32 die to prevent shaving with seating. Crimp was just enough reform case and no feeding problems were encountered. No leading noticed until higher loads and then only lightly. The load I settled on was a light, 4.5 grs unique with an average velocity of 884 and ad 12.2. The heaviest load I tested was 11.0 grs unique that averaged 1768 velocity with an ad 6.5. Testing was done off a bench at 25yds and I now need to test them at longer distances. All in all this has been a very enjoyable time. Since I used a lever I posted here. Have a good one.

That should be a good bullet for the uses you have in mind. I've used 7-7.5 grains of Unique for years with the 311316 gas checked equivalent. I found a single cavity 31108 mold not long ago, and have been casting some, but I haven't shot any yet. For a quiet load you can try 3 grains of Red Dot. I went down to 1.5 with a 98 gr .32 hbwc, and it penetrated about 3/4" in a spruce 2x6 at 25 yards.

You're duplicating the 32 S+W Long in a rifle. Good on you!

That sounds like a fun load cephas. Please let us know how it did at your 75 yard mark. I was wondering what the ad 12.2 and ad 6.5 are. It's probably simple, I am just over looking the obvious. Love the details....

Made me dust off the old NRA reloading guide I've had for awhile, and check out the 32 S&W long, interesting cartridge. The chrono I have spits out the standard and average deviation of the rounds fired. I know some that can load a lot better than that, but this was not bad for me with Unique powder.

With your hotter loads you're duplicating the 32-20 and that's another good one. Keep up the good work.
