Mp 454 640 lfn bullet design

Hello. I have a MP 454 640 mold in route. I've wanted the mold for some time but it recently became available again on the mpmolds site. I've read somewhere that the designer combined the base of Elmer's Lyman 454424 with modern lfn front end. Looks like an excellent bullet that should fit well in my midframe size rugers single actions. I shoot a lot of the mp 270 saa bullet and this bullet by comparison is nearly identical except for the ogive and meplat. Any experience with the 454 640? Thanks.

No experience to date. i have havd the 2 cavity version for years but never cast with it and only recently purchased a 25-5 N frame 45 colt. i have 800+ cast and have powdercoated about 150 to load. as yet i have not fired the midel 25 and will remedy that soon.

i have always lijed the 640 design and have molds in the various calibers of the 640 profile.

I wisj I had a 6 cavity aluminum 454-640 mold but did not purchase one with the group buy.
