Does anyone make and install new barrels for the Trapdoor? Or, there wouldn’t be some magical trove of NOS barrels hidden somewhere?

Do you want a sporter or full military?

re-lining is an option also

You can check with Bobby Hoyt also about getting the rifle rebored or Relined back to .45/70

Second on Bobby Hoyt for a reline. Trapdoor barrels are thin so you want a smith with experience.

hmmm.. I have a Trapdoor in 50-70. I wonder if it could be relined to 45-70 easier than a 45-70 barrel.

Bruce, the .50-70 is a wonderful cartridge. If your barrel is sound, I sure wouldn't reline it. Just me, of course.

Its a good barrel but Starline wants too much for their brass now a days.

lets see; starline wants too much for their 50-70 brass. so, you would rather go to the expense to have the rifle relined and re chambered??

He was as of 2021. I had an 1863 Springfield done that summer.
