I got my package from Lathesmith this weekend and got home today after being out of town all week. I set up and sized my 357 flat nose boolits I cast last week. Then I tried my hand at the 30 caliber rifle with gas check. This is my first gas check boolit. First, I plugged 1 set of holes in the die, thinking 2 sets of lube grooves. After sizing a couple and seating the gas checks, I realized there is another lube groove between the gas check and the first band. Now I have to take my plugs out of the die. No time now, will have to do it later. I am right on this, arent I?

Nothings written in stone, but you'd be correct with all the bullets I've ever lube/sized.

Why didn't you just set the stop a little higher? IIRC the only reason to plug the holes is when you have a really long boolit you want to size full length but don't want the top grooves lubed.

you may not need to lube that last one.
if the g/c is gonna do it's job it hast to put what it scrapes somewhere.
i have tried it both ways and i only fill that part now when i need more lube for higher velocities.
