I'm going to use Bullseye for my Med target 44mag loads. Whats the right load for this. Hornady's book says 240gr lead swc start at 5.1gr to max 7.1gr, Lee's book says 240 lead bullet start 9.0gr to max 9.8gr witch one is right?

Hornady's is for their soft swaged lead SWCs. Lee's is for cast bullets out of his moulds with a harder alloy. They're both right.

I use 5.5 gr Bullseye in magnum cases under the Lee TL430-240-SWC or the RCBS 45-250-K. In .44 Special cases I use 5 gr Bullseye. The 5.5 load runs 810 fps out of my 6.5" barreled FTBH and 750 fps out of my 4" Annaconda. These are very accurate and pleasant loads to shoot.

The load in Special cases is a few fps slower but not much.

What Larry said about 5.5 of be has been my experience as well. I have also had good luck with 6.0 of 231 6.5 of red dot and 8.0 grns of unique. Some of these are pushing up into medium territory though.
