After 8 long months my beloved 24-3 is on its way home from David Fink’s shop.

I sent it to him to fix end-shake and excessive b-c gap.

I also had him install a 1/10” gold bead FS, something I’ve long wanted.

Due to said mechanical issues, I haven’t shot it in years and disposed of all my .44 moulds, so it’s time to go shopping.

Also love my 4" 24-3. Attended the 1981 N.R.A. Convention in Denver and met Skeeter Skelton. I told Skeeter that I wished Smith and Wesson would bring back their Model 24 .44 Special. At that Skeeter took me by the elbow and pulled me aside and said "See that guy at the Smith and Wesson area? Tell him what we just talked about". The "guy" was Roy Jinks, Smith and Wesson historian, so I did and Roy immediately blew me off saying nobody wanted them they only wanted the Magnums. In 1983 they did make a run and people snapped them up. Guess Roy was wrong.

Sweet gun! I like 44 S&W Special The Lee 6 cavity flat point 200 gr is my favorite. A dear friend gave me this 696 a couple months ago ! Its an "L" frame 5- shot. 7 grs of Unique works great! I am used to shooting my Anaconda 44 mag with full house loads. This Smith is a cupcake! The 24-3 is almost the same gun. Have fun!313403
