ive seen a few molds for .44 mag 250gr. cast bulets that i like but they are gas check. am i going to have any problems if i load a gas check bullet without a gas check at about 900fps for targets.

Use the "search" function and you will find more information pro and con than you probably want to read.

Welcome aboard!

My experience is GC boolits without the GC don't shoot worth a hoot.

Others will disagree, in a gentlemanly manner of course!

I will suggest that each gun is it's own judge of such things, as such load 25 with and 25 without the GC, using the same alloy, same powder charge, same box of primers etc etc...

Then go shoot them! Afterwards compare targets and see if you can tell a difference in group size.

Feed the gun what it likes and you'll never be sorry!

I've experimented with the 358156 mould in the .357 and discovered that for non magnum loads - 5g W231 - they shot accurately. YMMV.

I would say you shouldn't have a problem. Most seem to have trouble when they push them hard if at all. I don't believe it matters as much in the pistol calibers because of the slower speeds as opposed to rifle. There are things you can do to help it also if you are having problems like adding a wad or a filler.

in my experince with 3 different gas ck bullets without gas ck installed in 5 diffrent guns 1 being a rifle and many diffrent powder charges for under 1200 fps accuracy was excellent at least to 25 yards in the handguns and one still shot 1 inch groups at 50 yards a marlin 357 mag with a 2x7 leupold for testing and a aimpoint for regular shooting
