Marlin 1894 forestock removal

What's the trick for getting the forestock off:confused: I don't normally get my butt kicked this bad.

On my 30-30 CB I had to remove the screw under the magazine tube at he muzzle and then the screws on the nosecap. Every thing slid off then.
