Not worth the effort for a $10 check... or less... lawyers will get most of that!

Yeah, I agree.

Might get 5 to 10 dollars in the end. The claim only takes a couple minutes to fill out. Hey $5.00 will get you dozen eggs, or a 6 inch x 6 inch piece of 1/2 OSB :)

10$? 5$? I am thinking more like 35c.

I wont be seeing any of the money either, never had any use for any of the "social media".

I know some people use it to keep in touch with distant family. I guess to reach a large group that makes sense. Never tried it myself.

It’s a real shame those in the settlement class only get $5-$10 (or maybe 35 cents!) each for the harm caused them. At least we can all agree we are glad for the handful of lawyers getting to share 35%-50% of the $725 million settlement.

A bunch of years ago, I signed up for the Remington shotgun class action lawsuit. I owned a couple of them. I got two $16 checks and it created a small nightmare for my simple taxes.
NOT WORTH IT!

Just a question. How much would they get without the presence of an attorney?

Effectively? About the same figure.

I won't deny that in the big picture attorneys provide a valuable service however the class action litigation process seems warped to me. How can the attorneys justify a hundred million dollar paycheck when those harmed might receive $10 - or less! I would hope that an ethical attorney representing me would appreciate I am not made whole by such a settlement but I'm sure we are all quite clear on why the attorneys ignore that reality and forge ahead regardless...

Unfortunately for me, it looks like you have to have been living in the US. Also how many people are going to apply? How much will the payout be per person, after the lawyers take their cut?

The payout is the final piece of the information they need to know all about you.

Payout amount will depend on how many apply. O R I'd say "they" already know all sorts of things about us whether you're on social media or forums such as this one. Some people publish their whole life out there, others ( probably most of us here) stay low key, but you can't hide.

Not nearly as much as the attorney got....

I filled out the form because I don't want the lawyers getting all of it!

…Effectively? About the same figure...

But, the fact that no single individual was willing to hire an attorney to fight for them means it sometimes is better to join a class action. Does it suck? Not really. Don’t like it? Hire your own attorney and contest the case on your own.

And how much of that $5 or $10 payout will the guvment take as their share? The way they figure things, I'm thinking at least their cut will probably be $15 to $20 out of your $5 to $10 payout.

I'm thinking the payout will be closer to 23 cents.

I think I signed up for an account 20yrs ago but it's been nearly that long since I've been back there. Things like that, twitter, tictok etc easily bore me.

IDK, I just got a check for nearly $200 in the mail for that Tanaka Air Bag Class Action. Put in for it for my Tundra several years ago and forgot all about it.
