Blaze news reported to night

A federal judge on Friday struck down California's three-decade-old ban on so-called "assault weapons", declaring the law unconstitutional in a ruling hailed by gun rights activists.

U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of the Southern District of California said the state's assault weapons ban unlawfully deprives law-abiding Californians of the right to own firearms that are commonly owned in other states and do not fall under the Supreme Court's definition of a weapon that is not protected by the Second Amendment.

Any thoughts ????

Great start if true but I don't encourage golden state gun owners to get too giddy.

That just means that the politicos will have to find another workaround.

If a person moves to a better place, they should leave the garbage that caused them to move, way behind. Part of human nature is to copy that which is detested, later in life

The problem is that everybody in CA already knows, they just don't care about the constitution and laws.

Is this a 2 or 3 year old article being cited? Only thing I could locate was from June 2021:

https://apnews.com/article/california-gun-politics-government-and-politics-3d72caa3b52667b2a450cae41a087468

If there is a new citation? If so; I would be interested. This summer I am going to have the Two Grandsons each building their own AR-15 (M16A2 look alike) from parts kits I bought several years ago. They live in Kalifornia; so for now they will have to leave the firearms with GranPa for safe keeping as they can not take them home.

Hopefully the same judge will rule on the new law in Oregon that is about to pass their legislature. Part of it requires that both the upper and lower of the AR type platform have a serial number ( forgive me if I am not that knowledgable on AR platforms) and any non serialized uppers will immediately become contraband. The bill also only allows judges in Salem controlled by the "Party" to rule on the law's legality.
