I'm not sure I understand the difficulty with using published data for J-word bullets, and merely substituting cast projectiles of the same weight. One must still do a work-up, but the results should be satisfactory.

I’ve never had luck with H110 and any cast bullet. Consistently, my most accurate loads have been with either of the 4227’s.

H-110 24 310/320 cast 1250 fps big game/ dangerous game. << I would seriously not use this load data under any circumstances as the COA is not given so you cannot be sure that this isn't a DANGEROUS LOAD without the facts. John Linebaugh may consider this a safe load in HIS 5 shot conversions, but for the rest of us shooting store bought Rugers, I wouldn't go there. Again, this is just data, without any facts as to the COA or the gun they were loaded for. Much respect to Mr. Linebaugh, may he Rest In Peace.

If 21.5gr develops 32,000cup I would NOT exceed this load in any Ruger single action revolver.

BTW, I have great luck with H110/W296 and cast boolits.

I played with different loads a little in a 20" Rossi and settled on 20 grains 4227 with 265-275 grain 454640 getting 1200fps. plenty good for anything I want to do. very accurate and fast enough for 45 colt. if I want to shoot faster I'll go to the 44mag or 444

The rifle is a Henry steel. I have other powders but I've got 8 lbs of W296 that has been taking up space for about 40 years and I'd like to use some of that. I have not extrapolated from J-bullet data because of 296's reputation for needing to fill the case. I'm pretty sure a 260 gr J projectile is going leave less case capacity for powder than will a 260 gr cast bullet. Not inevitably but I'm thinking a lead bullet of the same diameter and weight as a J bullet is going to be shorter than the J bullet. Yes, No, Not enough difference to matter? Anyway, that's why I'm looking for published data. it seems odd that so little exist for this combination.
