We get several calls a week from people wanting us to sign up for MedicareC . We have A&B. Could someone tell me what "C" is or does?

It's one of the plans offered by civilian companies regulated by govt. requirements/guide lines that pays some or more of
what A & B doesn't. They say there's a 'doughnut hole' you can fall into on medical bills that A & B doesn't cover.

I've got plan 'G' for that. Most of the people in the health care industry like it the best and it's the one they
recommend for their families and use themselves.

For some reason the rates are determined by your zip code.
It doesn't make sense to me, but the rates for us here are a little higher than other places
because there is a federal prison about 40 miles away.

Just as a rule of thumb so to speak--
All those plans you see so heavily advertised on TV and get spam calls from:
The rates are higher, what they pay is less,
and even after paying for all the advertising- are more profitable for the company.

Otherwise known as an Advantage Plan... not available everywhere... Medicare's website will let you compare plans in your area...

Many of these you have to go to doctors in their network and if your doc isn't you get stuck with higher out of network fees and co-pays. If you like your docs, ask which plans pay promptly with the least fuss.

Hello:
Im not sure the advantage plan aka plan c isnt available everywhere - Think it is just that not every ins provider is offering advantage but then another does.
So not available everywhere may or may not be quite true.
Its very possible somewhere its not available thoo so check into the company your thinking bout going with advantage or plan c .
But i agree before you jump onto plan c or the advantage plan look closely at supplement G options with the age option versus non age option as yes the first 2 yrs you pay a little higher premium but after that you pay the low deductible from that point on forward for rest of your life.
Might be 3 yrs rather than 2 on the plan - Check it out for accuracy ???
Also the yrs that count are actually the yr u purchased the plan so as an example u bought it nov 2022 and new yr started 2023 so u just got credit for one yr of the yrs you need to be in plan to go low deductible there after.
Plan G Age Issue Structure is what they called mine and again not everyone had it or offered it but Physicians Mutual did (Kemper DID NOT HAVE OR OFFER IT)
Anyone wanting the phone number to the agent that does offer it from Physicians Mutual Feel free to message me ill provide the toll free number and extension number of the agent and as a bonus they provided a drug prescription card that went along with it .

it is free - no charge in my zip - great coverage + many cash reward programs - accepted by any doctor that accepts Medicare -no copayments except for specialists, = dental, + vision coverage provided - but do a diligent search before choosing plan carrier - stay clear of Wellcare - i had them for 1 year , never answer phone, when they do answer you get 3 different answers to same question by 3 different reps - months for providers + participants to get claims paid - check out carriers with BBB + consumer affairs - i now have better coverage at no cost that i was getting when paying $180.00 a month thru a well known carrier -

Greetings,

The wife and I consulted with a no fee advisor.

The advisor asked for our list of doctors and medications.

20 minutes later he showed us the best plan for the money.

Yes, the advisor is a broker for several insurance companies; but, his answer was truthful.

We stayed with our current provider and he did not make a sale.

Cheers,

Dave

Warning to those who retired from the US Military - If one takes Medicare Part C or Part D plans; they will loose their Tri-Care for Life coverage as a backstop to Medicare. The wife went exploring and found that one out.
