Thinking about unloading some of my presses.
One is huge.
How would I ship it????
Probably have to make a wood box for it.
Gonna cost an arm and a legg.
Anyone done something like this before????
Any pictures ?????
Not going to say what press.
Don't want to be spanked for fishing.

How much does it weight?

Good question.
I've never weighed it.
Got to go do that.

I had a custom flintlock made a few years ago. It came in a wooden box made of 1 by stock and 1/4 inch plywood. If I remember correctly it was around sixty to seventy dollars to ship USPS.

If you build a crate you may want to wrap the press in a plastic bag and use expanding foam to keep it in place. Expensive yes. But would help get it to where-ever in one piece.

When I shipped a Star (not that big or heavy I know) Bruce advised me to screw the base to a piece of plywood to protect it from getting cracked in shipping. Not sure what you have, but a piece of plywood attached to the base will protect it as well as keep it centered in the box/crate.

Bubble wrap the press and then surround with "Good Stuff" crack foam.

It conforms to the box and protect the press - just make sure the press is completely wrapped to the foam doesn't mar the finish.
