Hi guys, any of you know where I may be able to get hold of a spring and floor plate for a Siamese mauser? I got a 45/70 conversion but I'm missing that part.. Any help would be very much appreciated!

by any chance you don't have a spare bolt hanging around for one??? I got an action, but its a 98 bolt in it. I would like to do the 45-70 conversion like you...

Supposedly an Arisake M38 floor plate, follower spring and follower will work after a little modification.

Have one I am trying to get time to refurbish myself.
Its 'To-It' has been active for a few years now.:veryconfu
Good luck with your search.

I thought they simply utilized an enlarged face M98 bolt, and cut down extractor!!!
Please...do Not cut an extractor... trade me a "stock" one for my already Cut one...or...

The Siamese Mauser was made by Arisaka of Japan for ye Siamese goverment to use their over stock of rimmed amunition. I is the last iteration of the 98K, not the first. So most 98K items will fit the Siamese Mauser, the major difference is the magazine slope for the rimmed case to stack. You weld up the receiver dust cover hole, polish, open the bolt face, extractor, put a Timney 98;mast trigger in.bend and sweep the bolt handle, drill and tap gor a 98 Mauser scope base,. Then make or find a stock. New England Gun Works makes an express sight set,,,,you get this:

The Siamese Mauser preceded the 98K by decades.
It can be rebarreled to 30-40 Krag,.303 British, or 6.5/.350 belted magnum cartridges with no action modification- the bolt face is correct.
My first custom gun was a Siamese in 30-40 Krag with a McGowan barrel.
Thanks for the link on that floor plate tip, KYwoodworker.

I threw my dust cover away like an 18 year old would!
Search Siamese Mauser and there’s a pic on Forgotten Weapons.

Yes ,a dust cover just like a Jap rifle ...probably copied from the British 1888 Lee Metford bolt cover ........although the Arisaka cover works differently to the British one.

Oh... Certainly Not the mark that is on my Chiang Kai Shek Mauser..

Again... If someone needs an Extractor for a Larger head Ctg... Please...Trade me a Standard for my Modified Extractor..
