The WWI memorial is also well worth a visit.

I've been a couple of times it is very interesting. They are still preserving some of the goods they found. Staff is very inter active with visitors David Hawley is always wondering around the place.

I'll second the WWI memorial. Have been there several times.Thay have an excellent collection of artifacts and it's well laid out.

Enjoy both, they have a crew restoring the 'goods'. WWI memorial has changed over the years and now is a neat place to visit. As a kid, there wasn't much there, no underground stuff that I knew of ( that used to be parking lot. Always wanted to go to the top to see the torch there. The original building is interesting also. they do have one of the german anti-tank rifles there.

Just a little thread drift on the topic. Link to the WW I Memorial and Museum in Kansas City. A great place to visit and ever changing display of artifacts. Very impressive displays and some are one of a kind and never will be duplicated like the paper mural on display. Plan to spend more time than expected. Start early so you do not run out of time.

We are hoping to take a trip this fall with my cousin and her husband. She has family in Albuquerque so we are headed that way and then to the Grand Canyon. We will probably come back through the Kansas City area. My wife looked at this and put it on our list of must do. So many things to see and not enough time.

I went to the Steamboat Arabia museum once about twenty years ago. I think they have since moved.

There were a few (very few) guns on display, most in about 50% there state.

And contrary to the article, there was one casualty; a Mule that was tied up on the main deck.
