Homelite chainsaw model number???

Old chainsaw that worked the last time I used it.
Been sitting for years and need new parts.
Don't know what happened to the Label, but all the numbers are gone.
All it has is Homelite XL
16" to 17" chain
Any ideas on how I can find the model number?????

Change the fuel lines. There probably cracked, and pull the carb, change it out for a $15.00 counterfeit or rebuild it. I did it with a weedwacker and the counterfeit carb fired first pull. That was after sitting for 20 years. Good luck

It's probably a little red. I'll post a link below what those look like. I'm not sure what years they were made. Some said little red, many did not. Mine does not. I think they came with 16" bar standard, but that's really a bit much for these things, I don't think they are even 30cc. I've been looking to put a 12" on mine. Unfortunately they are not the greatest made, and parts are not super easy to find new. The good thing is there were a zillion of them, and it seems to be a strong used market, ebay has quite a few parts.

Might be this series. They were real popular around here in the 1960's & 70's.
Wish I had one.

I'm still using my C-51. Heavy by today's standards, but a strong cutting saw.

dont know much about the homelite but I've got a couple old McCULLOCH eager beavers and a pioneer that probably just need new gas lines and carb overhaul. some of the old saws can be quite the pandoras box once you start digging into them.

Places on the web I went to, all ask for the model number.
Many different series of the XL, so don't know if the parts are the same or not.
Probably need a new carb, filter and lines.
Those I have.
But the priming bulb I don't.
It's all cracked.

If you like, I could give you the model number of mine when I get home. That's not mine in the picture, but mine looks just like it. Homelite made tons of them, and are called the "little red".

Does it have a spring loaded chain break. The older ones didn’t have a break, only something to protect your hand from going into the chain. I had a couple and they worked well. On the heavy side for the power, but plenty of torque. If it is one of the older ones, make sure to use 32 to 1 mix. If it has points, try to find an upgrade to a micro chip.

No such luck. My tag is unreadable.

I wouldn't spend much money on it beyond fuel lines or bar and chain. They are cheap department store saws. The only reason I still have mine is because it was my grandpa's. Before you waste $100 on it, consider a echo 310 or Stihl 170, both of which are better, and they are only around $200 new.

No chain brake.
Kind of a pain to check test it.
Everything has to come apart just to get the air filter out.
Sprayed starter fluid in it, and it fired.
So I guess I'm going to try and fix it.
I'll start with the hoses, primer bulb.
No numbers on the carb that I could see.
It's a Zama carb.

Don’t use starter fluid any more that aluminum piston doesn’t like to be run without oil! Dribble a small amount of mix fuel through the spark plug hole.

Just a short spray to see if it would even start.
Didn't even run for a second.
I ordered the bulb and fuel filter.
I think I found the model, UT10694.
Carb is a Zama C1Q-H17.
Might have to get a carb kit, but we'll see how it goes.
I remember using it, and it was a good saw.
Lost of power, a little heavy for it's size, but small and handy.
I normally use my 10" plug in electric, but need a longer chain.
