I have a CPA 40-65 on order and am going to load both BP and smokeless for it. Will 1-20 hardness bullets be suitable for both powders. Hope this is the correct forum.

Should be fine as long as it fits.

1:20 is still very soft Alloy.... (BN 7.8-7.9 or so).
Keep the smokeless pressure levels appropriately low/BP-type velocities, and with BPCR type powders
5744 and even Unique for fun.

If you’re planning on shooting BP level loads in that CPA like we do in Schuetzen, 20-1 will be as hard as you need. In fact, many of us shoot 25-1 or even 30-1 bullets with excellent results. I have always used 25-1 with 4759, 4227, and H-108 for my Schuetzen loads in ASSRA, and that same alloy in my BPCS bullets.
