I've had this idea for a very long time, and maybe I've even seen it before. Seems too simple to not have been done, yet.

The 9mm seater stem is bored through and tapped for a machine screw. Further counterbored to fit the 1/4" diameter screw head, which adjusts in/out with a lock nut. Some slight rounding of the bevel, so it will fit at a variety of nose angles without indenting a sharp line in the side of the nose.

Here you can see the screw extends way out the back of the stem, affixed with a couple nuts.

The other part is a bit I made to take up the slack in there. It has a hole in one end to clear the bolt.

So it goes together like this.

I don't use this die for seating a specific caliber bullet. It's a universal top punch, for pushing bullets into a "base-sizing die," which is my solution for getting thick gas checks onto bullets without the shank.

Since there's no case or case-crimp involved with that, I made the stem reversible to a flat side, so it will also fit larger caliber bullets.

So put it together backwards...

... and you get this. And now it will fit 40-45 caliber bullets.
