Any old timers remember when this W630 was $4.75. I'm on my last can. It had a gas cutting issue and was discontinued in the late 70's or early 80's. Works great in my .45 ACP +P and Super loads for my SA1911. Burns near 2400 in most cartridges. 310883310884
My brother and I loved it in our .357 magnum. We were upset when it was discontinued.

It was a WINCHESTER propellant. At some point, it was BOUND to be discontinued (usually right after I've done the work-up for it). Unlike other Winchester-branded propellants, I don't remember it being reintroduced by another "purveyor" under a different name.

Picked up a can of that for nothing last year, need to figure out a use for it.
Close to 2400?
Anybody use it in cast rifle loads?
I load a bunch of different 16ish grain cast rifle loads.
Love to burn it off in old milsurps.

630 never tickled my fancy. It gave velocities like Bluedot, but at about 10% more powder burned and was not as accurate in the 357 as 2400 or H-110, IME. I haven't seen a can for sale since 1979.

Shot a lot of 680 but not much 630. 680 must have been more popular because it was replaced by 1680 but I don't recall a replacement for 630.

I still have most of a can of WW 630. I have data for it in several of my older manuals (including Winchester's old brochure), but with an abundant supply of other powders haven't really needed to find a use for it yet. Still neat to have the can sitting on the shelf.
