Hey guys I'm looking for recipes for the 178 grain Matts SWC, powders I have available are Bullseye, 2400, Red Dot, W231 and Unique. I'm looking for a light to medium load (below 1000fps). My goal is to raise my point of aim on my fixed sight revolver so any tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated :D thanks in advance!

Not that particular bullet, but with a 180 gr wfn.
I have good results 11.4 grs of 2400 in both my Rossi M92 and a Colt King cobra.

What Pereira said.

With the powders you listed I think this will be the load to start with. You can work up to the velocity.

Questions:
How far were you from the target..50'

Where were you aiming...6 0'clock or center hold..

Were you standing or off a rest..

What load did you shoot the target with..

What firearm...

2400 has been the best for me in several 357 guns.

Although somewhat counter-intuitive, heavier, slower will hit higher than faster lighter. If you still find yourself hitting low, a REDUCTION in powder charge may work to bring you up to where you want to be.

Anyone have any full-power rifle loads for a 168 grain SWC 357? I'm needing a deer load for my Rossi rifle. I have Unique, BE, IMR 4227, 4759, Bluedot, and some Red Dot.

Thanks.

Not good manners to jump into someone else’s post with your own question. You will get a better response to “your” question is you start a new post.

I would go with 6grs of Bullseye

^^^^^This

I use 5.5gr to 6.0gr of bullseye and any 158gr to 170gr cast bullet in the 357mags for a general/plinking load. Accurate enough for blammo ammo, +/- 2" 6-shot groups @ 50yds.
