I recently stocked a Polish Mauser barreled action; the military sights weren’t my favorite when my vision was younger and age has not triggered a fondness for them!
SO, I used a flat bottomed Weaver base (old Sav110rear)and epoxied(JBW) it to the rear sight.
The FF3 sight is very lightweight so I think it work. I’ll be back.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230210/03c9bbe3a1266157bbb5619a51b7e078.jpg

I'm totally sold on those FF3's. I think I'm up to five of them now, and have them on both rifles and handguns. That's a pretty ingenious mount setup you have there, I hope it works well for you.

I agree, I have two that get moved around. The other one is on one of my Nylon 66 rifles.
I had to glue the base in place with the sight mounted and turned on- so I could get the windage right by bore sighting. I won’t drill and tap the sight unless I have to.

As soon as I finished sighting it in, my son showed up and we used up the rest of my ammo killing clay birds on the 40 yard backstop- shooting offhand- very easy with the FF3.
Lee 175 over 4198- a little light- I’ll use more powder next batch.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230214/713a4bbb0860dd9133341d4ec9e5901c.jpg

I was able to hide three shots under the 3MOA red dot at 100 yards with 175 gr btsp bullets. I aimed at the center of the shadow.
A group of deer were grazing beyond the backstop about 50 yards. They kept eating even when the WHOP! noise happened when the bullets flattened on the iron!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230305/45d427572d344dea378058bbf9528bc2.jpg

I had one on my 1886 Win 45-70 for a while. At my cabin range of 114 yards (deck to backstop) I could shoot five shot groups of 1.3”-1.7” with the Burris FF3 mounted on one of Turnbulls mounts made for the gun. I couldn’t do any better with a scope at that distance. Worked great for a couple of deer until I took it off and put it on one of my handguns. I think they work great.

I haven’t tried it on the 38-55 yet (too windy today) but I’m predicting fun.
