Ive got access to one and all I can think to make are stands for reloading presses and bbq parts. There's gotta be some jigs/fixtures, muzzle loading part , sumthin obvious i should do to take advantage of this thing while i can.
I'd make the spacers for revolver frames to be able to remove barrels without twisting the frame.

I'm not sure im following you ? Do you mean something along the line of action wrench faces or action blocks? I'm interested in those but i dont think plasma is any help?

I'd make a lot of redneck yard art.

I'd cut the plates from the thickest steel that's reasonable and weld them together and make sturdy ingot molds

Make targets until you figure something else out like a heavy duty motorized duck target used in the arcades but for rifles :Fire:

You could make some press mounting plates that'll stiffen up a bench and keep the press from wobbling towards you...

Or...make a press mounting plate that allows a press to be mounted upside down for sizing casts...

Or...scale up or down as needed and make yourself a 'Lead Reclamation Backstop'...

Then...break out the welder...

This one is regular 3/8" plate, not meant for rifle...here are the first shots with my 45ACP...

Get the rattle cans out...

Call your brother to help...it takes two 'Old'Farts' to handle this project...

Then how ever often you like...go around back and collect all the lead you've been shooting.

Cut the plates and parts to make yourself a belt sander. One of the handiest tools in a shop.

You could cut some RCBS style mould handle blanks. Probably cheaper to buy new, but they would be a doable project.

Let's see.... Welding bench, lathe stands, milling machine stands, shaper stands, larger metal bender, brake, and rolling mill, hefty hydraulic press... The possibilities aren't really endless, but they're rather high! ;) The ability to make tools from scratch was why I got into machining, and hope to get into welding again one of these days.

Just make two of everything you make and send me one to be your QC tester 8-)

So how exact are CNC plasma cutters? Can you cut gun parts that don’t need to be machined, or is it still roughing for those kind of parts?

The big outfits in town that do Laser and water jet cutting buy material in such large quantities I haven’t used my 4x8 CNC plasma since I quit doing production. It’s not uncommon for them to CAD and cut my parts for less than I would have in material alone.
If I am in a rush and don’t have time to wait on someone else, I probably use the pantograph I built more than my CNC plasma. It doesn’t have the same capabilities but is quick and simple to use.

The limits of what you can make, depends on your imagination.
