Finally got to the range for a little plinking. I picked up a Cimarron '73 Winchester in .32-20 last year. Pulled it apart and did a little polish work which smoothed it up even more. When I got it brass was unobtainium so used Nagant brass. Sized it up and loaded up a few 100 gr. FP boolits over 14 grains of 1680 powder. Load was mild and even though the brass was a bit short it still cycled through the action well.

I'll start load work up on it using bonafied .32-20 brass and save the reformed Nagant brass for the pistols. Cimmaron almost looks too pretty - may have to strip the glossy wood finish and re-stain in a walnut and do a duller linseed oil look. That should look better with the case hardened receiver.

I use that load with a 115 g. gas check in my 125 year old 94 Marlin. I would think it would be fine in the correct brass.

Been a 32-20 shooter / hunter for many a year. If you decide to hunt yotes, big ground hogs and such give some 115-120 grain FNPB a try sized to +.001 over groove. Our old 73's like 4-4.5 grains Unique.
Most accurate load still is 3F Goex pushing a 40-1 119 gr. down the tube.
