Yet another piece of that "larger deal", that I don't know what it's for:

This item is about 12" long, and solid steel. The big end is clearly a handle. The hole 2" from the other end is about .190" (takes a #12 drill bit, but not a #11). There's an Allen head screw at that end, to tighten things up, so it would grip something round and ~0.190", or flat and ~0.080".

Is it a heavy duty tuning fork? (Naaah. :roll:)

Nail puller, nail slides up slit to, hole where nail head is held as the bar is lifted to pull the nail.

If the sides are radiused, My bet is that it is a tool for lapping bolt raceways on bolt action rifles. Used with a strip of suitable grit sandpaper to smooth out the sometimes very rough military actions.
