View Full Version : BC for .37 meplat, 400 grain?

Having a tough time coming up with a BC estimate for my 400 grain, wide meplat bullet, mainly because I've not found a way to get the form factor or coefficient of drag. SD is 0.27. 400 grain, WFNGC with .37" meplat. .458 caliber, .46 diameter at the bands, .95" overall length. This one:

NOE's bullet design program puts this similar bullet at .28 BC. There is no velocity range given, but with other bullets of theirs that I have compared it seems like that is a G1 BC for low velocity ranges like 1400 fps and less. The BC drops as velocity rises.

OK great, thanks. I'll be shooting out to 200 on paper but wanted to estimate trajectory ahead of time.

You might take a look at the back reference section of the your Lyman 3rd edition Cast Boolit handbook and find very similar boolit and they list trajectory at different velocities.

Thats what I would do.
