I purchased some Rimrock 44 cal cast 185gr HP bullets. My plan is to shoot them from a 3" barrel. Anyone have load data on this combo? I want to push the 185 gr at 900fps to 1150fps.

I shot up a bunch of Winchester 180 grain jhp's back in the day. 9.0 grains of ww-231 or 10.0 grains of Unique ought to do right by you. 14.0 grains of HS-6 was recommended by my late buddy, Rick but I never tried it.

Lyman's starting loads for 180 grain JHC's should be exactly what you need to get, look there for some more choices.

You don't mention what propellants you have available, but 8.0/Unique/185 gr. HP would likely put you in the middle of your desired velocity range. 5.5/RedDot/Same bullet may give results at the lower end of what you want.

I did not include needed info for forum help.
I have 44 cal, 185 gr cast HP bullets. Powders I have available include, HP-38, CFE Pistol, Universal, and True Blue. Sorry for making this complicated. Your help is appreciated.
