Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone is still reading GB discussion but figured I'd post this as an FYI.

My work has me traveling to Europe for 2 weeks, flying out tomorrow. As it works out, I'm going to be about 2 hours away from Miha's shop and he has agreed to have me come visit next weekend. While #1 will be drinking beer with his crew, I'd like to see if we can salvage the GB section of this forum and MAYBE get things up and running again.

Wish me luck!!

If any of you Europeans near Miha are free, I'll be there on the 22nd.

Chris

I’m not that far away from him, but I still have to pay the same shipping charges as to the US. I sure would enjoy visiting a mould making operation. Be sure to take some pictures to post.

It would be an awesome visit. Lucky you!! Looking forward to your report.

I would be interested in a .358 158 gr Keith style mold to fit the Master Caster. He calls them "Machine Molds". Last time I checked, Magma was out about a year on molds. Not holding out much hope as the market for this is rather small but no harm in asking. I would pre-pay to get one in 6 months.

BTW was able to get a decent 147 9mm used mold for $60 recently but used molds are typically going for about $100 and some are pretty ratty. There may be a larger market now that Magma is so backed up. Commercial casters might be customers for him to direct market to. They are going to be more willing to pay a premium for stuff that makes them money.

I expect a huge thread full of awesome pictures!!!

I feel like this forum could thrive again. When I started here a decade ago the group buys were flowing like water.

I think we have so many amazing designs that we keep going back to re runs.
We need to get some new twists and totally new ideas going to get the juices flowing again.

Don:
I have two moulds cut for the Master Caster from Accurate, 35-122S and 44-215H. Had to buy the mounting hardware directly from Magma, but even switching it out from mould to mould if Magma is backed up on those also wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.
I liked being able to get the iron blocks from Tom as I wondered about brass on the MC. Not sure what his delivery time is now but bet he can beat six months.
MP moulds make up probably the largest brand in my collection, but I see the MC and Accurate as my main future casting route.
