The threaded end of my Lyman 450 lubri-sizer handle broke off. Lyman seems to only carry parts for the 4500 sizer. The thread size is not a standard thread. Does anybody have an idea on how to repair or replace ?

A picture would be helpful. If Lyman doesn't have it,and you can't dig up a used one...

PM me,I've made several replacements over the years. I "think" there's two thread pitches from Lyman...

But the thread pitch isn't a deal breaker. The handle(male threads) are easily matched to whatever the female is.... just sayin,it dosen't have to be what Lyman uses(if it makes the problem go away).

Rereading,it appears you need a handle. I thought you broke the linkage part. Threads on a piece of round stock for handle? 5 minute job.

The linkage is the same for both the 450 and the 4500. Therefore the threads for the handle are the same. He has the parts numbers and the phone numbers. He will lose the bike handle grip and get a ball grip.

Lyman had replacement parts for the 450 pre - the banned subject we can't discuss .
I bought replacement parts for mine and discovered a "Conversion Kit " replace old handle with a new ball handle and some other up-grades for the 450 ... makes it more like a 4500 .
The problem is finding the site to order it from ... things have changed and I can't find the site that sold the obsolete parts / conversion kits ... it is/was a Lyman site .
I would call Lyman and see if you can get a real person to help you ... two years ago I was worried my 1972 450 might break a part / need a new seal and started buying parts ... then I found the 450 Upgrade Kit , which basically rebuilt and up graded the 450 ... so I bought that Kit also .
Lyman has them ... good luck rooting one out !

Years ago friend had a 4500 whose body cracked (long story) so he gave us the remains and ordered a new one. When the handle on Dad’s 450 broke, he just took what he needed off the “corpse” and did his own “upgrade”. The point is, you should be able to look at an exploded parts diagram and pick out the parts you need to do your repair.
