Hello all!
I have misplaced my Alliant powder manual. If I remember correctly they list 2400 with a 110 grain jacketed bullet. If someone would be so kind as to post the maximum powder charge for me. If it comes from another published manual that would be OK too. I think it is about 17.5 grains but my rememberer isn't what it used to be.
All help appreciated, and Merry Christmas!
Thanks,
Rick

My only Alliant book shows no loads for the 30-30 with 2400. However it does show 16 grs of 2400 with a 110gr jacketed bullet in the 7.62x39.

Thank you!
Mine was a very early book. I've been at this for over 45 years. I'll keep digging.
Thanks again,
Rick

My Phil Sharpe Handbook lists:
110 gr MC bullet in 30-30
2400powder 12 grains gets 1520fps
16 grains gets 1995fps

My recent Lyman No 4 Cast bullet handbook lists
30-30 loads for heavier cast bullets, :
150 gr cast
14 grains 2400 gets 1605fps
up to 17grains get 1849fps

a lighter bullet with these loads should be OK
BUT, as has been said, check for yourself. You could check directly with Alliant re the loads for 2400.
The Alliant handbooks have not listed 2400 in 30-30 loads for many years. Their fastest powder listed loads are for ReLoader 7

The only 2400 loads I ever saw in the Alliant manuals were in the silhouette section, but they were with 150 and 170 grain cast boolits.

The 16-grain charge of #2400 with 110-grain jacketed Bullet in the .30-30 approximates .30 M1 carbine ballistics.

Hornady II , circa 1975, lists some from a mdl. 94 w/ a 100gr half-jacket.

probably NOT... Alliant, now that i think about it.
