Need some help with the production date of this S&W Model 3000

Hey Guys,

I picked up this S&W Model 3000 a month ago and am wondering when it was made. Serial Number, fb88XXX. I reblued the barrel and receiver. Any tips on bringing the synthetic stock back to life?

It was made by Howa in Japan during the 1970s and 1980s. The synthetic stock puts it from the 1980s, I imagine. It looks ready to hunt to me.

Sand and use Rustoleum bed liner makes a great finish unless you have a beard or whiskers so sand it down after spray dries on the check side. If you want a real grippy effect, put the can in the freezer for 20-30 minutes before spraying
