I have a workshop that I would like to connect to my Wi-Fi.
It is about 50’ from the house and maybe 100’ at the most from the router in the house.
Anybody have experience using a Wi-Fi extender?

My shop is about 1000' from my house. I use one of these and get full bandwidth. https://store.ui.com/collections/operator-airmax-and-ltu/products/nanostation-loco5ac

We use one in our house to connect the laptop upstairs to the modem and desk top in the basement. We found that the signal from the extender doesn't carry well through our walls or the floor so we lined it up across from the stairwell. Works fine now. I would suggest placing it near a window in view of your shop if you have difficulties with a preferred location.

My garage is about 75' from the router. I used the Orbi extenders. Costco had a sale on a three pack a few years ago and they work great. My sister got some a few months ago on sale. I just checked Costco and they have become ridiculously expensive. Good luck. I know I can listen to the internet radio basically everywhere in my yard now. Well worth it to me.

It all depends. I use a powerline extender for my basement. One connects via ethernet cable from the internet router, one in the basement about 75 or so feet and a bunch of walls between. I have another router that is in the basement that is set up to broadcast same signal. I get about 90% of the max in the basement with this as compared to near the main router. I have another older one in my shop about 100 odd feet away from the main router. It works, but not as well, older (6 or 7 year old tech and way less output. Oh, also have a very old router connected to give me a wifi signal. That is one way that does work well if shop is on same power feed. If you have separate meter, it won't work. Another would be a mesh router that would have multiple small routers that act as extenders. Not as cheap

If your garage is on the same breaker panel as the house, this might work.

I did a Google search and found this one, ExtendTecc.
It came with high reviews.
