Need some help identifying this mold. It is an Ohaus 0392 with 38-148-W under this info.

Yet, I can find NO information anywhere. As you can see it casts a nice bullet, 4 grease grooves.............any information would be appreciated.

I thought the design was for a black powder pistol, but the 38-148-W is throwing me off...................

Thanks for looking, I would appreciate any information.

Sure looks like the wad cutter bullet mold with the nose reformed to make it a RN.

I know nothing about Ohaus molds, a search might find some information so you can tell whether or not the mold has been modified. What do you really need to know other than as-cast diameter and weight? Mold temperature during casting can affect diameter and alloy used can affect weight and diameter.

Okay, here's one other kink........... you can't see it in the photos above, but one cavity is a bit longer than the other. I didn't realize this until a good friend who stopped by
pointed it out............"Hey, Look, two different lengths!" I agree with you; this mold looks mysteriously similar to a wadcutter mold, but with a short round nose. Oh well,
I'm going to cast up a few handfuls and load them into 38 Special cases and see how they perform.............idea's? Comments?
Thanks to all for your comments.

RCBS bought out the Ohaus molds and other casting equipment, I think.

It sure looks to me like somebody added a RN to the cavities.

It may work well, it may not.

Bubba took a perfectly good 38 cal. 148 gr, wadcutter mould and added a Round Nose section onto each cavity .
And shame on bubba if he made one cavity longer than the other ... now you have two different weight boolits ... Yeah , that was a nice way to mess up a good mould
Not sure the reason for that move but ... Whoomp... there it is !
