Based on lots of good advice from this forum, the kids and I have had lots of fun shooting reduced loads in our bolt-action 30-06 rifles using 2400 and Unique. Well, I'm down to 8 oz of 2400, but I got a very cheap deal from a friend on 16 lbs of BE-86. I figure BE-86 will act similar to Unique, so I'm thinking of trying it, starting 8 grains for plain based boolits and 12 grains for gas checked. Has anyone tried BE-86 for this kind of load?
Thanks,
LBS

No, but, here are a bunch of other powders that were tested. I'd find the data for the powder closest to BE86 burn rate and use those loads. Test a few to see what yours likes.

I'D be comfortable using BE-86 in place of Unique for cast bullet .30-06 loads. I'd want to double-check the data for Unique & perhaps reduce it a little to err on the side of caution.
