for a 03A4 with a Redfield Jr scope mount. Helping a bud get this one set up (still looking for a 73B or Alaskan for it). SN indicates it was one of the early run, and it's it pretty decent condition. We're using an old Redfield 2-7 variable for the time being. Works okay, but not much in the way of range on the cross hairs, so just trying to get a mechanical zero to where it works good for the time being out to 200 yards with cast.

I read somewhere that when these were originally set up there were 3 different shim thicknesses. Anyone know what they were?

Next question is how much shim is too much. My calculation to put impact where it needs to be is around 12 to 15 thou.

Any suggestions?

According to Leupold, .001" moves impact 1" at 100 yards.
