Just thinking out of the box.

Coercion........
"The practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats."
Now that the courts have ruled we have the right to carry firearms, one of the requirements is that we must give consent for access to our medical records.
In order for someone, even the courts, to gain access, is a court order stating a need, or consent from the party.
The cops are saying we need to consent to allowing them access to our medical records, or they will deny the permit.
So....is that not a threat????
Do this, if not, we will deny your rights.
Isn't it like "sign this paper, or we will not feed you.
They don't need the records.
They are not doctors.
All they need is for the doctor to say yes or no.
If yes, no problem.
If no, doctor better have a good medical reason.
I'm just hoping that Constitutional Carry come soon.

If we still lived in a Constitutional Republic; local, State, and Federal governance would be required to respect and abide by the US Constitution. In particular; the 4th Amendment States:

Fourth Amendment
Fourth Amendment Explained
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

But then again; I only learned to read and comprehend what I read in Grade School - Did not wait until College and Law school to learn how to read and reinterpret plain english.

Find others who think like you do and start a class action law suit ? That is IF you can afford to fight this fight?? There are lawyers who are big in this fight and will do probono.
Talk to the NRA look at Oregon they are in a similar fight now.

I assume this is for a medical card for smoking dope, we have been warning for the beginning of this that it was a back door for gun control , just makes it to easy for them and we have been filling out these form for years stating that we do not do the drugs on their list or at the very least don't leave a paper trail that tells other wise.

I seem to recall that at least in NC the sheriff sends a query to whatever medical facility and asks a question like “is Jim crazy?”

What you can do, tomorrow and for free, is send an open records request to your state attorney general or county sheriff or whoever processes these things asking for the form and information requested in the processing of carry permits or purchase permits, or whatever kinda doc they have where you are. They have 10 or 15 days to respond.

If you’ve applied you could request copies of their request and the response.
