If not shooting these lets here what you are shooting in your 45-70 lever gun. I would like to keep the weight less than 350 closer to 300 if possible. The gun w/scope shoots absolutely lights out with 300 grain jwords and 5744 in the high trapdoor or low lever action load range.

I’m using the Noe 460-315 getting good accuracy with 44.5g IMR3031, 1 1/2” @100 yards with my Marlin 1895. It’s going with me Monday morning in the woods. These are going about 1580 fps and recoil isn’t bad. Boolits are powder coated.

I might add that I size to .459 and use the Hornady short brass from the Lever revolution ammo and use the Lee factory crimp die. It won’t chamber with standard length brass.

I have a few different accurate molds. I have the 46-325cg, the 46-350a, 46-300r and the 46-525vg. I load the 300 and the 325 for my friends 45-70 from time to time. I mostly use them all in my 458 socom. I love them. The 325 is the most accurate ones from my 458 socom as long as they are powder coated. If I only lube them, they open up a lot

I only have one Accurate mold. But I like it a lot. I use it in a .44 levergun.

Lyman 457122 Gould HP. My Katadin Encore and my best friend's son's Marlin. And it's the only cast boolit he will shoot!

Recently I tested 3 different mold patterns in a Marlin Guide Gun. First was a Lyman 457191 mold for a 300 grain boolit over 10.0 Unique. This is my "grins & giggles" load for Trapdoors that I wanted to use up. Then I followed with (1) RCBS mold 45-300RF-GC (actual casts were 325 grains) and a Ranch Dog pattern 460-350RF-GC (boolit weight 358 grains), both over 36.0 grains IMR4198. I was looking for a muzzle speed of 1,500 fps +/- to find tight groups. My shooting distance was 25 yards at an indoor range (all I had available). Have owned this rifle about 20 years and this was my first time firing it - for a few various reasons. Scope is a Leupold 4Xwith plex crosshair. All 3 tested loads created 1-hole groups so longer distance testing will be when I get access to a longer range. I was both impressed and pleased with these groups. The Unique loads had no significant recoil and the other 2 (IMR4198) were manageable and could easily be fired by anyone. For the areas where I hunt this muzzle speed will cover the distance I have to view nicely and higher speed is not necessary.
