I had about 5 minutes of shooting light left, and he came in on my left side, about 100yds out, did not head to the corn, he had other things on his mind and started moving, I got my rifle on him, and when it felt right, the trigger broke all by itself it seemed. He wheeled and ran 20 yd and piled up. I aimed for a lung shot, and barely nicked the off side shoulder. Got him hung in the barn,skinned and will bone him out tomorrow. It was spitting the snow while I was field dressing him. So grateful that this year I can hunt without being in pain, and walking on my hind legs instead of crutches. I still struggle, but God has blessed m e richly to be in a better place than I was a year ago. He is a 3 pt, with a fork broke off, not a trophy head, but just right for a old fat man, who cripples around. I will send pics to TBG and get him to post them.

And I shot him with a my 6.5x284 I built on a Savage action. Her name is Norma, and she is a bad cat. I could shoot out to about 350 yds in this field I was hunting, reason for the long range rifle.

Excellent, Sam. Glad for your success with deer and mobility. Getting around on two feet makes life much better. After a motorcycle accident 2 years ago I was wondering if I would be able to walk well on uneven ground again. 10 screws and two plates in the foot let me know they are there but I can walk and hunt again. God is very gracious.
Thanks for the help on the Ruger Rings I spoke with you about a couple weeks ago, too.
