i picked up a dirt cheap lee .401swc 175gr mold at an estate sale. I was wondering if the SWC would feed reliably in a 2011(1911a2)or is it just for revolver loads?. I have never used that profile of a bullet before(only used truncated cone and flat points)

I'm no expert on 2011s, but I doubt that much would prevent this bullet from working well in them. Maybe some polishing, somewhere?
In all the .40 S&W pistols through which I've run the 175 gr. LSWCs, it seems the secret is to leave a small amount of shoulder above the case mouth and to make sure the bell in the case mouth is well & truly removed. I guess this is one of those "Duh" obvious points, but the few times on which the bullet failed to feed for me, I'd overlooked one or both of these things.

I have run that bullet in a Smith and Walther 99, Kahr CM and Glock model 40 10mm. The Kahr would only feed at 0.401" the others fed at 0.402". No experience with other firearms and that mold. I traded for a TL model and gave it away. I ordered a 6 cavity conventional lube and PC it.
