Spent the last two days days with the Louisiana and Alligator hunter association at their fall Rendezvous. Third time going and we work the 3hr drive for me down from south MS. Got to see a lot of fr inds I made online do som fun stuff like trying my hand at gator skinning. Had posting an invitation last week folk asked me to post pics so
Me and Cletus Richard of apple road lures. Great fun ole dude and a great predator trapper. Guy is in his 70's and still lays them out. And yes before anyone asked I'm pretty short lol !

My buddy Jeff doing. Mink demo. He traps mink around the crawfish ponds where they cause a lot of damage and he is beyond knowledgeable on them. Dude is also an amazing cook !

So we had a gator skinning demo with a smaller 7foother and they asked if anyone would like to try and I couldn't help myself. Left me tell you , from the inside out, their really easy to cut.... Yes I popped a hole in him lol. But apparently I don't to horrible for the first try. Only did about 1/8 of the whole thing though

I haven't been to one in years... since I quit helping a friend trap(we both got to busy with work...). Was always a fun time with good food, some good moonshine got passed around...

Looks like a great time. Nothing better than spending time sharing, and learning from people who share the same passion for a hands on sport.

Good to see you had a great trip Wolfdog91!

I would have enjoyed that. Definitely different from a trapper rendezvous in the north!

We have a Trappers Festival in the northern part of the province every year. I've attended it a few times over the years, and it is very interesting and well organized.
Here's a bit of info: https://www.trappersfestival.ca/
