Currently, my favorite boolit for my ACP revolvers is the SAECO 453, 235 grain full wadcutter.

I am told there is a 200 or 210 grain boolit that is the darling of the target crowd. Or maybe a couple. Tried to search but drew a blank. Can someone point me in the right direction? Feeling the urge for a new NOE mold!

RCBS 45-201-swc as well as the lee are both copies of H&G 68.

You might do decent work with the lee 452-230-TC too.

Lee 452-200-rf does well in 1911s. Can send ya a couple dozen as cast if you like.

I like the Lyman 452389, 185 grain semi-wadcutter in my model 25's.

The 200 gr. Lyman 452460 has a proven record for accuracy and is a winner in both the LC and ACP cylinders of my Blackhawk convertable.

I have a Lipsey Ruger revolver which sports its extra cylinder in .45ACP and this bullet is my choice as well!

Have had several 45 ACP revolver but down to 3 S&W 625's. Shoot a lot of H&G 68 but matches are usually a Lyman 225 TC. GW

Lyman #452488, it's a button nose wadcutter with a whole lot of bearing surface. Lyman lists it as weighing 195grs when cast of #2 alloy.
There are almost always 2cavs on eBay.
2nd bullet mold I ever bought for .45ACP(1975), still Love it after all these years.

I think you should try the Lee 6 cavity 200 gr TL. I just tried it and powder coated it shot really well, even better seated out a little long.

I agree ^^^
I was lucky enough to walk into a local gun store in '77 when they were discontinuing their reloading supplies. All 4 cav. Lyman molds were $12.50. A 452488 was among the 5 molds I walked out with.

I also use it in the .45 Colt: seat it slightly past the mouth & put a slight crimp. With 7.0 gr. 231/HP-38 it's accurate & pleasant to shoot.

For just good old fashioned blunt force trauma, the Ideal/Lyman 452423 was Elmer Keith's .45 Auto Rim bullet. They claim to be 238 grains, but the several specimens I have cast from are closer to 250.

There's also the tumble-lube NOE/Ranch Dog that I honcho'd the group buy for several years back. I was after a tumble lube alternative to the LBT .45 Auto bullet, and one of the participants had the bright idea of turning the front lube groove into a crimp groove for the revolver guys.

I do like the wadcutter design and saving weight is a plus. Does NOE make a copy?

I have a six cavity copy of this mold. One of Catshooter’s honchoed deals. I like it a lot but looking to save lead by going lighter.

I appreciate the offer and may consider it after the holidays and Holy Days.

452488 on the top right. 452460 in the top middle. Think I have a spare of each. 2 cavity. I upgraded to 4 cavity. Think I have a 2 cavity H&G like the right also.

The H&G #68 is the standard that others are compared to. There are many clones available.

My very first 45 acp mould and my very first 2 - cavity mould (all others were 1 cavity)
Lyman #452460 . Works fine in 1911 and Ruger Blackhawk .
NOE makes two designs that are a copy of the Lyman ,
NOE 453-189-SWC-AB2 ... and NOE 453-200-SWC-CC6
I'm not sure what the difference is between these ... to me they look identical .

The Lyman #452460 and 5.2 grs. Unique won me a First Place trophy in a 1911 Service Pistol Match shoot at our local indoor shooting range once .

On the Bullseye-L forum, there was several articles on what one top shooter did to get optimal accuracy out of a S&W M-25. It may be in the archives.
