Marlin parts

I have a Marlin 30-30 lever action. About 125 years old. A little spring thingy is broke. It seats in the side wall and slides against the bolt and pushes on the rim of the shell to eject it. It's model 93. I've been to Homestead Parts and they don have what I need. I know there are more sights but don't know what they are. Can somebody suggest other sights that might have parts?

Dean - you are talking about the ejector. The ejector is in two parts, a milled piece that sits in the side of the action and holds a skinny flat spring. The spring is crimped in, but can be pulled out and a replacement inserted without further crimping.

I have a Marlin 1893 in .32-40, and I too broke this part, and fixed it. It was the spring that broke. I removed the spring and replaced it with a piece of filed down clock spring. End of problem.

On the subject of SITES, Numrich may have what you want. You should probably also lay in a spare extractor and a front and rear firing pin. The firing pins are the same as for the 336, and they do break, especially the rear one.

If it is the spring leaf that broke, any gunsmith should be able to fabricate a replacement at reasonable cost.

I have an 1889 Marlin 32-20. Marlin came out with a replacement ejector that is not held in place by a screw as the older model was (it just drops into the slot). Those ejectors are sluggish- they work but the ejected cases drop basically to the ground.
Before I bought a new ejector, I'd try a piece of a bobby pin (remember those) or spring metal in the old one.

That is the 336 part - not the same as the 1893, but same general layout.
