NOE boolit sized to 356 with powder coat and a gas check. The load was 7.5gr of Accurate #7. Test weapon was CZ RAMI with a 3" barrel. Speed was 1,065fps. I used pure lead.

The boolets would get a slight deformation hitting the ramp, but accuracy was good. I tried this load first without a gas check and accuracy suffered.

The boolit destroyed the first jug violently and fragmented. The second just was where I found most of the debris and shank. The 3 jug was leaking with a good sized hole but the boolit bounced back into #2.

I like frag boolits for self-defense so this is a keeper however I do have a shallow pin if I'd like slower expansion.

Wow, seems like great results for a defensive boolit, eh. Nice work evaluating your new cartridge. Thinking of dropping a 'wheel weight' into the next pot of 'silver'?

Your casting & Pwdr Ct'ig? Mind mentioning the mold? Thanks.

Boolit weight ...does it say 133 on scale display ? NOE makes a lot of 9mm boolits ... I can't quite read the scale's display screen .
only one old eye left ...Help out an old guy !

Here's the mould I used.
https://noebulletmolds.com/site/shop/bullet-moulds/355-9mm/358-136-fn-s1/358-136-fn-s1-rg2-cavity-gc/
358-136-FN-S1 2 Cavity RG2 GC

I would highly recommend the GC mould if you're going to run pure lead like I am. I have an MP mould just about the same boolit but without the GC and accuracy is very bad.

Usually I start with trying to get maximum expansion and damage then scale it back if need be. I don't think I would use a different alloy but I may try the shallow pin.

The powder coat is "Super Durable Wet Black" from Powder by the Pound. It always gives me good coverage with a shake and bake.

The gas checks are Hornady gators. They snapped on solidly with thumb pressure after the PC and bite in solid after a run through the lee sizer nose first.

My RAMI has a very tight chamber so I would recommend loading with the driving band even with the case mouth. The shoulder of the bullet is under bore size making it perfect for PC in a tight chamber. Hornady XTP's don't work well in this gun because the walls of the boolit are bore diameter and there's just a quick taper at the tip.

Years ago, I bought that boolit mold under a slightly different designation. It quickly became my favorite for accuracy and feeding.
I use others of lighter weight to save on lead and a couple of heavier weight for special purposes but this one is a great design.
I have it in gas checked, hollow point, and plain based solid designs.
It is an excellent boolit for 9mm.
I have even tried it in 38 special.

Thanks Steve !
You and I think alike ... in 2015 I ordered the NOE 360-124-TC GC for use with soft alloy in the 9mm Luger . I use 50-50 COWW & Pure lead , I wanted the GC because I wanted +1000 fps velocity . The boolits drop from the NOE 4 cavity mould right at .358" which has worked out wonderfully ... sized & lubed to .357" and can be used in 9mm Luger and 38 Super .
Size & lube to .358" and use in 38 Special , 38-44 HV (38 spcl+P) and 357 Magnum .
That one boolit covers a lot of my reloading . The boolit will flatten out and mushroom nicely when driven +1000 fps with that alloy (pure lead tempered with some wheel weight metal 50-50 ).
Boolits are air cooled .

Fellow member Tazman has had some good results with this one too , even in rifles ...
if I remember correctly.

I've been working with this boolit , 357 Magnum and Accurate #5 ... but not done yet !

Wow! 7.5 grain of AA#7 in a 9mm case?

I shoot 7.9 grain under a 188 grain boolit in 40 S&W and get about 1050 fps.

Hot load - I use 8 gr of #7 under J-word bullets in my CZs, and yeah, gotta load them a little bit shorter. I average 1.095 as a COAL for most loads.

I started with 1.095 but some of the driving band was exposed. After the first mag none of the boolits would go into battery without a push. I assumed there was some lead getting shaved off the throat. My next test will be at 1.060" which puts the driving band flush with the mouth.

I took another stab at it. Same load same mould this time with a 10.4 hardness alloy.

Full weight retention and it went through 3 jugs.

That second attempt looks to be a winner. Did you capture it's velocity on the second load?

No, but it was loaded exactly the same so I assume it would be close to 1065fps.
