Victor 250 series Oxy/Acey
I've rebuilt them before, but acting strange again.
I'd like to get a two stage set, but kind of expensive.
I do have some other brand two stage, but needs to be rebuilt.
Would cost more than a new set of Victors single stage.
For some reason, they just don't last all that long here.
So rebuild again, or replace with new??????.

I would order a rebuild kit from https://regulatortorchrepair.com/

Here is their Victor rebuild kits, match up your regulator and order that kit.

I have an oxy/acetylene torch made by Craftsman, bought it back when I was a teen or early 20s, has worked great with zero problems, in my 70s now.
I'm not much into welders but I do have the Craftsman's rig, Jewlers torch with MC acetylene bottle with the little oxygen bottle, I also have a Tornado torch that uses a MC acetylene bottle plumbers type torch.
Electric wise, AC arc welder, Mig welder, Tig welder and a spot welder.
Not a welder but I do have a Hypertherm plasma cutter.
Of course, I accumulated this over a long lifetime.
I don't use any of it much, but it is sure nice to have when I need it.

Thanks for that info DougGuy. Always good to know where to get parts.

Price for the kit sure has gone up.
Don't remember paying that much the last time.
Used it on Friday, and the gauge needle gets stuck going back to "O".
I have a set of old Airco 2 stage I always wanted to get working again.
I'll see what it might cost to rebuild those.

If they are rebuildable, my thoughts are always to rebuild. They are bound to be better than whatever China-fied version is most available these days. jd

that place that sells parts for most all the brands used to be very reasonable and also have very reasonable rebuild costs, but just like everything else prices are up. last torch I had to pay to get rebuilt was a victor hc1100 that is about 3 feet long, the head that holds the torch tip melted. cost $125 to rebuild like new dropped off at the local airgas.
ive been sticking to using smiths lifetime torches and had three of them rebuilt for free about 3 years. Ive tried to rebuild the stuff a little bit and some are easier than others the Harris and victor are much easier than trying to get all the bits and pieces out of the smiths. as far as regulators I dont like to screw around with them and just pay whatever the cost as long as it is much less than new one i drop them off at the local welding supply place which ive since switched to hollstans in Knoxville --good people

was just thinking about this and I think the reason I leave regulator repair to professional is probably the. scary accident and disaster safety movies they showed us in welding school.
