Not in the way most would wish. I bought a 2 inch barrel 38 Special revolver and some 150 grain WADCUTTER bullets to load for it.
I am now happy.
Wish me well and great happiness.

I wish you much happiness, but if you don’t find it let me know, kinda digging the snubbies.

And congrats also on post #3,000

does not mean succumbing or contradicting yourself : snubs are snubs,
.44 magnum belong to another world (my preferred one)_
I've always argued, laughing, that under the .44mag. there are only calibers for special people :kidding:, and over .44 only for rifles, but I could not give up a 2.5" M19-2, and I still have to break in my new 6 cavity wc mold for her_

I have a 2.75 inch M69 on right now.

Glad to hear you grabbed a classic! 38spl is definitely underrated, especially the WCs. Effective and enjoyable to shoot, a great combination.
Of course, if you happen to be attacked by a bear, your namesake probably would be preferable. :-)

Please, specifics on which .38 snub you bought and what load you carry. Anything that carries " six for sure" loaded with the Buffalo Bore 150- grain. hard- cast, full-charge wadcutters is a great choice. I am partial to the S&W Model 10-5, and the Model 12 Airweight, but also have a Colt Detective Special, a Cobra and an Agent. They all share the HKS10A speed loaders so I usually have several pairs handy on my person, in travel bag and spares in the safe.

Having 3 pairs of .38 carries is about right.

I didn't splurge I bought a Taurus 856. Haven't worked up a load yet. Just got it Thursday or Friday last week. It will just be a house carry gun. When out I carry a M69 Smith 44 Mag or a Glock M30 or a 1911 in 45 Auto.
The 38 Special will be my pocket revolver.
I have a bigger hammer very close by.
Always.

I'm partial to a Colt Cobra myself.
But I won't kick my 624 3" out it's holster, a 212gr WC over Max Unique.

I just got a 38 snub after not having one for about 3 decades. Quite happy with it, but in today's world it certainly is not a primary carry. It will likely live it's life as a BUG or loaded with snake shot for walking in the desert. Welcome back to the wonderful world of snubbies.

My usual carry gun is a Chief's special from the '60s.

I have had some very positive, accuracy wise, experiences with snubbies. They can suprise you.

I know how the 38 Special feels being underated. I feel the same.

My favorites?
2" blue square butt flat latch 36 and a nickeled 3" square butt 36 that someone magna-ported.
The 3" is my normal carry gun.
Put Pachmayr grippers on them and they fit my hand perfectly.
H&G #51 cast w/ 4 gr WW231. Shoot all day and shoot cheap. The magna-porting actually does work on the 3"
If I feel the urge to shoot 44 mag, I have a 5 screw pre 29 and a 3 screw Ruger

Sounds like a good plan. I load 3.5 grains of Bullseye with a cast 150-grain DEWC.

3.1 grains Bullseye under a Lyman wadcutter seated to the topmost crimp groove (resembles a stubby SWC) is one of the best loads I've ever tried. My mold is the 358091 and drops 'em at 146 grains. The newer version is supposed to be 150 grains.

I wish you well and much happiness.
Snubbies are fun when run on wadcutter loads.

Good purchase. That’s going to be a pile of fun to shoot.

I carry a 3” snub revolver. My P320 chambered in .357SIG holds 13+1, but I still find myself with 6 rounds in a revolver. If I need more than 6, I’m already dead.

I like my snubbie model 36, also like my 696 with a 246 gr HP. Both work if bullet placement is correct.

What diameter do your bullets drop, and what expander do you use?

Mine drop at almost .360 from a SAECO 348 clone by MP.

I purchased a .358-.362 expander from Buffalo Arms, but I’m about to send it back. It sizes correctly, but the downstroke requires so much force, it’s actually loosened the press from its mount. This is with virgin Starline brass. I actually had one separate when I had the expander set too deep.

I have their .357-.361 that works fine if I size the bullets first. It tears up the as-cast bullets.
