Going thru my collection today and found one that I have forgotten about ...
An older round ball mold that is missing it's sprue plate , no numbers or id stamps of any kind.
Checking size with mic's ... about .570 or a bit more.
Wondering if it might have a bit of history ?

It's for casting a round ball in the muzzle loading black powder days.
The handles look like what Ideal used on their stuff.
When cartridges came along the tool changed for the added station, but the curved handle stayed the same.
As long as they are, you could probably hold them with a rag as you sat around the camp fire melting Lead in the same
frying pan you ate out of.
Do a quickie search for 'antique Ideal molds, then click 'images'.
There's quite a few of them out there.
