UPS delivered 20 pounds of their clearance powder today. Not a great selection of colors but beggars can't be choosy, right? At $5 a pound, free shipping over $99 and no tax, it's a deal I couldn't pass up.

I dont see any mention of this being a TGIC powder from the few MSDS or Tech Spec sheets I looked at..
it may not dry tumble.. Not saying will not.... just don't know since TGIC is not mentioned and is very important to the dry tumble method ...looking forward to your reports on results

I'm going to say you're right and this powder may not have TGIC. From what I've been reading, TGIC powders require 400 degrees to cure properly and this Columbia powder can cure down to 350. I tested a couple of these with the shake & bake method and didn't have much luck at all. Using airsoft BBs in a proper #5 recyclable container I could only achieve about 10-15% coverage. Since I don't ever do S&B and this was the first time I gave it a try, I tested some HF red since I hear it covers okay and got about 75% coverage without much effort.

Rather then waste any more time, I broke out the ES gun so I could coat this batch of boolits to start loading tomorrow. Nothing different about spraying this powder compared to any other I've used except it does go on about a half thou thicker. Squeezes through a sizer easily also. I'll give a few more of these powders a try with S&B next time I cast but I don't think the others will be any different.
