I have a natural gas line with quick connect run from my living room fireplace log lighter out to my small deck for a natural gas grill. Do any of you know a source for a natural gas fryer base heater that I could use to smelt lead? Thanks, Gray Fox

Maybe this.

If it were me, I’d take a propane cook stand and put one of these on it. Doesn’t list btu, but video sure shows it’s putting out some heat.

As I remember, the only difference between natural gas and propane burners is the size of the jet. I converted a natural gas kitchen stove to propane once by changing the jets and adjusting air inlet to the burner. If you buy a burner that has an easily removable jet, you could probably get it to run on natural gas without any problems.

Natural Gas has a lower operating pressure than propane as well as a larger orifice for the same btu. As much as 13 Inches of Water Column for Propane.

The Bayou Classic Propane burner I have is a high pressure unit running 10 PSI to the burner, that really would not work.

A dedicated Natural Gas Burner would be better than a conversion.

When I had a shop with natural gas I converted my burner from propane to NG. All it took was the correct orifice, a valve to throttle the gas flow and a hose with no regulator. The burner itself determines the maximum heat provided it’s jetted correctly.
