My SAECO 315 double cav. mold arrived from Rick today . Buckshot has done his " magic " again ! ! The solids from this mold weigh 178 grs. , the hp's now weigh 167 grs., right on the money. Rear bands on this bullet mike .311 with the nose measuring .302. Just about ideal for my needs. I couldn't ask for more.

The HP pin diameter on this one is .100

Rick drilled this one " dead center " ( as he always does ).
If you're thinking about having a mold HP'd, I can highly recommend Buckshot ! !

This bullet has been super accurate in a variety of .30 cal. rifles that I own. I can't wait for the weather to moderate a little so that I can get some range time in with these.

That looks beautiful! Should make a great whitetail bullet.

Thanks Glen, those are my EXACT thoughts also.

Nice work! But then again, Buckshot's work is always top-notch, a true craftsman.

Just curious, was the meplat on one of the cavities damaged prior to the HP conversion? Seems like there is some sort of "Ring" showing on only half the meplat in the picture.

VERY OBSERVANT ! !

Yes, the very end of the bullet ( meplat ) came from SAECO with a small " burr " inside the cav. on the nose.

I assume a tiny chip got spun around on the very end during the cutting process. I thought about sending the mold back to Redding , but when I shot the bullets and miked the dimesions they were so good for my own particular applications that I was afraid that they replacement mold that would be sent to me might not be the same dimensions.

The rear cav. in the mold is free of this.

I've always cast from the front cav. only to have weight uniformity , but have noticed no adverse affects on accuracy as you can see below:

Ben:

Nice shooting too! Placing 4 rounds in (almost) the same hole with a CB is "Darn Good Shootin", it hard enough to do that with "J" bullets, never mind cast. Good work.

Looks real nice. :Fire: They look very "business-like".
