I had a great time teaching the BSA Merit Badge in shooting and Orienteering. I really enjoyed teaching the younf folks and being nvolved with the Junior Shooter programs of the BSA and IHMSA. When I was a youg man in fast draw and walk'n draw competition, I followed Thell Reed Jr in shooting magazines.

Boy, i remember my crash course in orienteering. 18th ABN Recondo Ranger thing at 0200.
"Ok, night drop into the LZ then 2.1 km at 236 degrees there is a sign on a tree with a letter. Turn and go .7km at 194 degrees and write that down then......
A NC swamp in the middle of the night sucks hardcore but i was young, stupid and full of it laughing the whole time
